Kausalyaganga: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Khordha and ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Kausalyaganga, Bhubaneswar organised Technology Day during 16-18, July, 2023 to commemorate the 95th foundation day of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi.
For wider visibility of potential technologies in agriculture and allied sectors like fisheries, animal husbandry, farm machinery and women empowerment, exhibitions were arranged for three days in the campus of KVK, ICAR-CIFA.
Different technologies in the form of posters, leaflets, booklets, products and models were displayed; short videos on latest package of practices in agriculture and success story of progressive farmers and entrepreneur were shown to the participants for moral boost towards agriculture.
Private players in the field of agriculture like IFFCO; East West Seed Pvt. Ltd; Bayer- Seminis Seeds; Namdhari Seeds Pvt. Ltd. and Aries Agro Ltd. displayed their innovative products in the exhibition. KVK also displayed its technological products, models and demonstration units to the visiting participants. Farmers, farmwomen, youth, women SHGs, members of FPOs from different blocks of Khordha district actively participated in this three day long programme and received first-hand knowledge on latest technologies and products; and interacted with experts of KVK and private players in agriculture. During interaction with farmers, farmwomen and entrepreneurs, Head, KVK and others experts of KVK stressed on the adoption of soil test based fertilizer application, organic farming, climate resilient approach to farming, farm mechanization in agriculture and integrated farming approach for sustainable production and income. Around 200 farmers and farmwomen attended the programme.
