Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying and Minister of State for Minority Affairs, Govt. of India, Shri George Kurian visited CIFNET, Kochi today . Their he reviewed various activities of the Institute.
George Kurian(MOS of Agribusiness) also visited various divisions of CENTRAL INSTITUTE OF FISHERIES NAUTICAL & ENGINEERINGTRAINING . Division include Fishing Gear Hall, RT Station, computer lab, Navigation Simulator Lab, Library, Seamanship Navigation Lab, Biology Lab, and more
After brief overview of CIFNET activities by M.Habibullah, Director of the facility, a demonstration of various equipment, such as RT communication with CIFNET Fishing Vessels was conducted during visit of the Minister. The Minister was also briefed about various initiatives of the Government of India for the safety and security of fishermen. It include transponders for two-way communication developed indigenously by ISRO.
