New Delhi: The Centre on Tuesday will launch a mobile application to help aqua farmers adopt best practices in cultivation for good harvest.
The ‘MatsyaSetu’ is an android based app developed by ICAR’s Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (CIFA), Bhubaneswar with financial support from the National Fisheries Development Board, Hyderabad.
The launching ceremony to be organised virtually will be attended by Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Giriraj Singh, MoS of Animal Husbandry and Dairying Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Secretary in the Ministry J N Swain.
The app will primarily disseminate information for adoption of scientific methods in aquaculture and latest freshwater aquaculture technologies, said a government statement
Chief Executive of NFDB Dr C Suvarna, DDG (Fisheries Science) ICAR Dr J K Jena, Joint Secretary (Marine) Dr J Balaji, Joint Secretary (Inland) Sagar Mehra, Director of CIFA Bhubaneswar Dr S K Swain will also grace the function.
